What You’ll Want To Know About Permanent Makeup
This section answers some frequently-asked questions about permanent makeup – also sometimes referred to as Micro-pigmentation.

What is Permanent Makeup?

Micropigmentation (permanent makeup) is a process of inserting the hypoallergenic pigments into the dermal layer of skin. This will remain in the skin breaking down and fading over time.

Who will benefit from permanent makeup?

Anyone who wants to look their best anytime or anywhere should consider permanent enhancements. You will look younger, fresher and more attractive, it will save valuable hours by not having to apply and reapply your cosmetic makeup. Permanent makeup is also ideal for people with busy lifestyles, who take part in sport, have difficulty applying makeup or have an allergy to cosmetics. Cosmetic tattoos or micropigmentation is a very good solution for Alopecia sufferers, those who have experienced hair loss following chemotherapy and breast cancer survivors who have had breast reconstruction.

How long will it last?

It’s individualized. As a general rule the darker the tattoo, the longer it will last. Other fading factors: sun exposure, tanning beds, anti-aging cremes, sweating a lot and the age of the tattoo itself.

Is it a painful procedure ?

Pain is subjective and everyone is different. Applying a safe topical numbing creme 30 minutes before the permanent makeup makes the procedure painless. Many clients are surprised how easy the procedure is.
Some describe the pain similar to plucking the eyebrows.

Is there lots of swelling and redness after the permanent makeup procedure?

There might be a minor swelling or redness after the procedure which will disappear soon. Any tattoo might look a little bit bold in the first week but it will soften by 20-30 percent after 10 days.

How often does it need a touchup ?

It is individualized. The pigments can remain in the skin anywhere between 1 and 5 years. Each skin type is very different and breaks the pigment down at different rates. Exposure to the sun can also fade the colour quicker. Most clients like to freshen their colour every 1-2 years with a top up treatment to reduce the fading process.Black permanent eyeliners won’t need any touchup for a long time ( up to 5 years or even more).

Is the treatment safe?

Safety is the priority. Everything is fully sterile and all the needles and caps are disposable and are opened in front of the client.

Can permanent make up be removed?

It can but it is a lengthy, costly procedure. Several treatments may be required and long periods of recovery are involved in between treatments.

What is Feathering Technique Eyebrow?

The feathering technique also called the defined hair stroke technique, allows your permanent makeup to look natural because each individual hair is tattooed on one-by-one. The eyebrow tattoo equipment is much smaller than other tattoo equipment making it better suited to use on your sensitive skin surrounding your eye. Short and longer strokes are used to follow the pattern of growth of your natural brow line. Your eyebrows are unique and flattering without looking fake or penciled onto your face.

How do you choose designs and colors?

You’re in luck! She’s spent years playing with colors and perfecting faces. Although permanent make up is different, she still relies on her knowledge of color theory and face morphology. We have a vast number of pigments, all of which can be mixed to create even more hues. Every face is different and she takes great effort to ensure the color is just right for you. Designs are chosen to maximize the potential of your own face. Making a subtle change in the placement of the arch or elongating the brow itself can make an enormous difference in how you look. This is the most time-consuming part of the procedure as well as the most important.
